Simultaneous detection of monomers associated with resin-based dental composites using SPME and HPLC

چکیده

As resin-based composites (RBC) replace dental amalgam for environmental reasons, there is a requirement to understand the impact of this alternative restorative material. In study we standardize simultaneous detection five monomeric components associated with RBCs using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled solid-phase microextraction (SPME). Factors affecting method (detection wavelength, calibration conditions, sensitivity/accuracy/precision, extraction time/efficiency) are evaluated standard solutions containing mixture TEGDMA, UDMA, Bis-GMA, BPA and HEMA. Detection sensitivity analytical efficiency optimized these compounds 200 nm PDMS/DVB fiber time 90 min. Analytical accuracy HPLC >95% all monomers, precision 2.3–5.1%. limits under conditions described 25 µg/L HEMA, BPA, 100 TEGDMA. The governed by largest molecular weight compounds.

Identification and Quantification of Monomers Released from Dental Composites Using HPLC

The aim of this study was to detect and quantify the main residual monomers released from composites, using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Discs were made with dental composites (Herculite XRV, Tetric Ceram and Filtek Z250) and immersed in deionized water at 37°C for 28 days, with water changes in 1, 7, 14 and 21 days. The mean concentration of residual monomers were subject to ...

Nanoparticle-reinforced resin-based dental composites.

OBJECTIVE TiO(2) nanoparticles treated with the organosilane allyltriethoxysilane (ATES) are used to improve the mechanical properties of dental resin-based composites (RBCs, Z100, 3M ESPE). METHODS TiO(2) nanoparticles were sonically dispersed in an ethanol solution containing ATES. The modified particles were washed in pure ethanol and dried before being used as filler. Fourier transform in...

A new kinetic model for the photopolymerization shrinkage-strain of dental composites and resin-monomers.

OBJECTIVES The aim of the study was to develop a new kinetic model for the shrinkage-strain rates of dental resin composites. The effect of filler content on the shrinkage-strain kinetics and degree of conversion of dental composites was also investigated. METHODS A resin matrix containing 65 wt.% Bis-GMA and 35 wt.% TEGDMA was prepared. 0.5 wt.% camphorquinone and 0.5 wt.% dimethyl aminoethy...

Effect of low shrinkage monomers on physicochemical properties of dental resin composites.

UNLABELLED The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of low shrinkage monomers on physicochemical properties of dental resin composites. Two low shrinkage resin composites: one with a crosslink branching monomer (Kalore, GC Corp) and a novel monomer (Venus Diamond, Heraeus Kulzer) were compared to a conventional resin composite formulation (Filtek Z250, 3M/ESPE). The volumetric shrinkage...

STRENGTH AND FRACTURE TOUGHNESS OF WHISKER REINFORCED DENTAL RESIN-BASED COMPOSITES

Enhancing the properties of dental resin composites is of interest to researchers. The objective of the present investigation was to improve the strength and fracture toughness of dental composites via addition of silicon carbide whiskers and substitution of commonly used filler materials with stabilized zirconia ceramic powder. It was also intended to study the effect of powder- to- whisker ra...
